Established in 2001, The Thames Valley Education Foundation (TVEF) is a registered charitable organization affiliated with the Thames Valley District School Board. TVEF exists to build partnerships with the community that enhance opportunities in our schools and enrich public education.

Funding for the Foundation comes from local businesses, grants, community organizations and concerned citizens who wish to support our District's tradition of excellence.

We believe that public education is a collective responsibility of the entire community. Community support and cooperation are key foundations on which an exemplary public education system can be built. Donations to the Thames Valley Education Foundation help our students prepare for the challenges of tomorrow.

The Foundation's focus is to support programs that address the following needs:

• initiatives to support parent and community involvement and participation in the education process;
• promotion of safe schools;
• citizenship and leadership development for all students;
• enhanced learning opportunities for students, particularly in the arts, health and fitness activities, environmental programs;
• intervention activities in response to child poverty, in collaboration with community partners;
• recognition of excellence in learning and teaching (includes scholarships and bursaries).

The Foundation supports three primary programs:

• The Caring Fund - created to support students in emergency financial need
• The Learning Enhancement Fund - a program designed to promote innovative teaching practices within our schools
• Awards and scholarships - awards, bursaries and scholarships available for TVDSB students
